Palm Oil or Harm Oil? Why we don't use it in BBTHCo. Products
The use of Palm Oil in food products has been a focus of the media recently, highlighted by the ban of Iceland/Greenpeace’s recent advert. According to Dr Emma Keller (WWF) Palm Oil is used in nearly half of supermarket products including soaps, shampoos, pizzas and biscuits.
Here at Bubble Tea House Company we have chosen not to use Palm Oil in any of our products, using Coconut Oil instead! There are many reasons why we have made this decision, here are just a few:
- Palm Oil production is believed to be responsible for about 8% of the world’s deforestation between 1990 and 2008.
- To keep up with demand too many trees are being cut down, destroying and ruining animal habitats
- According to research Pam Oil production has led to the death of around 100,000 Orangutans in the past 16 years.
- Around 3.7 million people work within the Palm Oil industry, with rising issues regarding labour conditions within the industry in recent years.
So, what can you do to change the devastating effects caused by the production of Palm Oil? Join us in saying no to Palm Oil, and make a conscious effort to choose products (like ours at Bubble Tea House Company) that don’t contain any Palm Oil.
We are always happy to discuss the ingredients in our products, so if you have any questions please get in touch with us at hello@bubbleteahousecompany.com
